Field Trip Guide:

Field Trip Guides will be trained to lead field trips with school-aged children, college students, and adults. The program will teach students about the major components of organic farming and why it is important to know where your food comes from. Field Trip Guides will be expected to lead a group of up to 15-20 people at a time. Field Trips are generally scheduled from 10:00-12:30, Wednesdays and Fridays. To be eligible for consideration, you must be available during these time frames a minimum of two of the designated field trip days.

Guides are also encouraged to work with the Sweetwater Farmers to gain first-hand experience and learn how our particular farm operates. Ongoing volunteer time spent in the fields will add to the information the Guide is able to provide to the students and will enhance the overall work-share experience.

Elementary Education, Agricultural, or Health-related college studies and/or experience preferred but not required. Must have cell phone, access to email on a daily basis, and reliable transportation. Must pass background check.

Field Trip Guide Internship/Work-Share is available from October through May. Shorter terms will be considered, but preference will be given to candidates that are able to commit to an entire Season from October through May. Summer positions are available on a limited basis.

Reimbursement: One CSA share for every two trips lead.
