Rick Ferriss has been writing and performing since the late 60s, mostly in the Tampa area. Music projects have included 70s north Tampa folk bands Whispering Palm Trees and Hot Cakes, a 90s duo with violinist Richard Leps, a Y2K Christmas song project, bass backup for Charlie Groth and others, facilitation of a long-standing north Tampa jam, contemporary Buddhist songs, and most recently, R.E.D., a trio with Ellie Schwartz and Dennis Devine. During the covid year, he concentrated on recording solo videos for an eclectic assortment of originals and covers (Stephen Foster to Muddy Waters to Neil Young & beyond). The Sweetwater set on April 4 will be his first live performance in over a year.
