Where learning grows from the ground up!
Learning is at the heart of our mission. We believe that hands-on experiences in nature help people of all ages better understand where food comes from and how to care for the earth. Through field trips, workshops, farm tours, and volunteer projects, we offer opportunities for students, families, and community members to explore sustainable farming, nutrition, and the natural world. Whether you’re visiting with a class, joining a weekend project, or attending a workshop, the farm is a living classroom for everyone.

Our farm field trips give students the chance to experience organic farming up close. During their visit, they’ll rotate through a variety of interactive stations—including composting, greenhouse, the chicken coop, water well, native trail, pollinators, herb garden and more. Each stop highlights an important piece of sustainable farming and offers hands-on activities like planting, harvesting, and composting. Field trips are designed to connect classroom lessons with real-life food systems, sparking curiosity and stewardship in young learners.

Community members and college students are invited to support our education team as educational field trip guides. Volunteers help lead small groups of students through their farm experience, introducing key concepts and encouraging discovery. It’s a fun way to give back, practice leadership, and inspire the next generation of mindful farmers.
Training & stipend are provided. Field trips are held Wednesday, Thursday, & Friday mornings. Must commit to 8-12 hours per week during the school year.

Throughout the year, we host a rotating series of adult workshops led by local experts in our community. These classes cover topics like nutrition, cooking with seasonal produce, gardening techniques, and sustainable living practices. Each workshop is designed to be practical and hands-on, giving participants skills they can take home—whether that’s a new recipe, composting tips, or ideas for starting a backyard garden.
If you’d like to offer a workshop at our farm, please contact Dan Durica at dandurica@gmail.com

Our weekend volunteer projects invite the community to roll up their sleeves and get their hands in the soil. Volunteers have an opportunity to learn sustainable farming practices such as planting seedlings, harvesting crops, building garden beds, and companion planting. It’s a chance to learn by doing, connect with like-minded individuals in our community, and contribute directly to the success of a local organic farm. Whether you come once or every weekend, your help makes a difference in sustaining our farm and feeding the community.
