How to Make Plant-Based / Dairy-Free Milks

Learn how to make your own plant-based milks! In this class, participants will sample between 5 and 7 plant-based milks made from nuts, fruit and whole grains. This class will be a 1.5 hour tasting and demonstration followed by a Q & A. Participants will leave with recipes and the knowledge of how to create affordable plant based milks at home using a blender and simple tools.

Your instructor, Stacey Lenz, is a long-time Sunday morning yoga teacher and farm volunteer. Stacey has an extensive culinary background and is a mostly life long vegetarian / vegan focused on whole foods. Please note, this class is not suitable for individuals with allergies to nuts or grains.

Although our base price for this course is $25, Sweetwater is a nonprofit that puts on educational programs for elementary schools in the neighborhood and teaches them about food systems and basically where their food comes from. We also host community volunteer days and a farmer’s market every Sunday from November through May. You can donate to Sweetwater in addition to your course fee if you’d like to help us continue our programs. And if you want to get your hands dirty in our gardens you can contribute your time by volunteering Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday mornings from 9-12.
